Super Bowl 51

Good morning everyone.  It's hard to believe that it's February, and that this is the last entry of the football season.  My INTENTION is to start posting weekly at Bikini Hill, which is one of my other blogs, and I should be able to accomplish this, since I won't be making this weekly post, but we'll see.  My sincere appreciation goes out to Joey and Pete for all that they've done for me, both "on and off the field..."  Not only have they got their favorite bets to me every week, but Joey has chauffeured (yes, I had to Google that spelling) me several times to buy groceries, etc..., and Pete and his family put me up for about a month when I returned to the desert at the end of May.  Yes, I have been back in Las Vegas for over eight months already.  We would all like to thank you for dropping by and checking out our picks each week.  Like I always say, our picks are for entertainment purposes only, and we hope that you've been entertained.  As this long weekend progresses, the total pageviews for this blog will creep ever closer to the 10,000 mark, which is pretty impressive considering that it's pretty quiet here outside of football season.

We'll lead off with Joey, who will once again be our blog champion.  Someday he may even let me use some of my Caesar's comps to buy him a meal...  :)  Live from the Palace Station Race & Sportsbook, here's Joey...

Joey's Parlay Card (Last Week 1-3/Overall 42-34-1)

Falcons 31  Patriots 24 --- Falcons (+3)/Under 59

It's the final game of the NFL season.  2016 was the Chinese year of the dog, and major sports showed that as the Cavs won the NBA, the Penguins won the NHL, and the Indians were one inning away.  I'm gonna keep the trend going.  Both defenses are pretty good, which will keep the game under 59.  I'm not dismissing Brady and Belicheat, but the Falcons have a few more weapons that the Pats D has not had to contend with all season.  Both teams are close stats wise, so I'll take the dog Falcons (+3) to win outright 31-24.

Now it's my brother's turn, and his bets are the complete opposite of Joey's.  I share one bet in common with Joey and one with Pete, for those of you who like foreshadowing...  Live from Caesar's Entertainment, here's Pete...

Pete's Parlay Card (Last Week 1-3/Overall 37-40)

Patriots 34  Falcons 28 --- Patriots (-3)/Over 59

And now it's my turn, last bets of the season.  I can't tell you how much I'm going to miss football.  Here our my bets for Super Bowl 51...

Coach's Parlay Card (Last Week 1-3/Overall 39-37-1)

Falcons 37  Patriots 27 --- Falcons (+3)/Over 59 --- My crystal ball brings me back to the Presidential Election, where the media was constantly telling us that Hillary Clinton was leading in the polls, yet Donald Trump is our President.  All of the talk seems to be revolving around Tom Brady and the Patriots.  With all due respect, the Pats got a Texans team with Osweiler and without Watt (who beat a Raiders squad with a rookie QB making his first NFL start).  Then New England only had to face Le'Veon Bell for six carries when facing the Steelers.  The Falcons crushed the Packers, who had previously knocked out the Giants and Cowboys, both teams that had been playing well.  I think that the Falcons will feel at home in Texas and on the fast turf, and that many people will be surprised when this one is over...

And that's a wrap everyone.  Expect a high-scoring game and have an outstanding Super Bowl Weekend!
