CFB Bonus Post

Good evening everyone.  We have a little bonus post for you ahead of Thurday's college playoff games.  Thursday would be New Year's Eve.  Can you BELIEVE it's almost 2016?!  Over the weekend we went 6-3 on our picks, with Joey going 3-0 and Pete checking in at 2-1.  Evidently my bets took the weekend off...  Like I said, this is a bonus for you, and we'll still be back with our picks for the weekend.  I'm thinking that post will appear on Saturday with our normal three bets.  Next weekend's post will have our bets (and score predictions) for every NFL playoff game on Wild Card Weekend, plus our scores and bets for the college championship game on Monday the 11th.  Now for Thursday night's games...  Live from Las Vegas and Palace Station, here's Joey...

Joey's Parlay Card (Last Weekend 3-0/Overall 27-23-1)

Clemson 41  Oklahoma 28 - Clemson (+3.5) (Over 64) - Clemson is the number one team in the country.
Alabama 27  Michigan State 20 - Michigan State (+9.5) (Over 46.5) - Sparty is a team of destiny.  Michigan State doesn't win, but the game is gonna be close.

Happy holidays and may all your tickets cash!

My brother Pete doesn't say much, but his bets have lately.  Pete and Joey are both 5-1 over the last two weeks, and they turn in similar picks here.  Live from Las Vegas and the Bally's/Paris/Planet Hollywood trio, here's Pete...

Pete's Parlay Card (Last Week 2-1/Overall 20-30-1)

Clemson 31  Oklahoma 28 - Clemson (+3.5) (Under 64)
Alabama 27  Michigan State 21 - Michigan State (+9.5) (Over 46.5)

Like my brother, I'm taking Clemson in a tight game, but like Joey, I think it's higher-scoring.  All of us like Alabama over the Spartans, but unlike Joey and Pete, I think that Bama covers.  We all think the Tide and Spartans squeak over the total.  Live from the White Mountains of New Hampshire, these are my bets...

Coach's Parlay Card (Last Week 1-2/Overall 23-28)

Clemson 37  Oklahoma 34 - Clemson (+3.5) (Over 64) - Difficult game to pick, but OU does have a loss (Hook 'Em)...  ;)
Alabama 34  Michigan State 17 - Alabama (-9.5) (Over 46.5) - Tide and Heisman Henry wear down Sparty in this matchup...

And that's it my friends.  If we're right, Clemson and Alabama will be your national title game.  As always, remember that these picks are for entertainment purposes only.  Enjoy the games and we'll see you Saturday!

Football Friday (2015 - Week 17)

Good evening everyone and Merry Christmas!  If I didn't have my titles for the football season posts pre-determined, the title of tonight's entry might be "Uh Oh."  That would be as in LOOKOUT, because our trio of experts went 8-1 here last week.  Our only miss last weekend was Joey's Jets missing the cover by a 1/2 point at Dallas.  Right now I'm typing this post for you from my bed while watching the Cavs/Warriors game.  Did I mention that I bought myself a little Christmas present???

Somebody has a new tablet...  :)  $79.99, and so far, so good...  ;)  Without any further, let's get to this weekend's bets.  Did I mention that we went 8-1 late week?  Okay, coming live to you from the Palace Station Sportbook & Casino, here's Joey...

The NFL playoff picture is almost set.  Most times I will bet against teams that need to win, but Week 16 also gives an opportunity for totals.  I'm taking the under in Week 16 conference games, so we will go with...

Joey's Parlay Card (Last Weekend 2-1/Overall 24-23-1)

Rams/Seahawks (Under 40.5)
Patriots/Jets (Under 46.5)
Steelers/Ravens (Under 47.5)

Merry Christmas and may all your tickets cash!

Joey is our only bettor who is above .500 right now, but we're trying to rectify that.  As our special gift to you next week, the three of us will be giving you our bets on the two New Year's Eve college football playoff games.  I'm talking against the spread and totals.  That should come to you on Thursday night.  Okay, back to our current programming...  Coming live to you from the Strip (Bally's, Paris, or Planet Hollywood), here's Pete...

Pete's Parlay Card (Last Weekend 3-0/Overall 18-29-1)

Steelers (-10) @ Ravens
Browns/Chiefs (Under 43.5)
Cowboys/Bills (Under 43)

My Christmas present to Pete is that all three of his bets were adjusted to reflect the more beneficial current odds.   This happened to one of Joey's submissions also.  Now it's my turn.  Live from the White Mountains, where it was 51 degrees today (which won't happen again for months), here I am...

Coach's Parlay Card (Last Weekend 3-0/Overall 22-26)

Chiefs (-11) vs. Browns - Browns have been that bad...
Patriots (-3) @ Jets - Pats have been dominant in AFC East...
49ers/Lions (Over 43) - Lions indoor 'Over' worked Monday, so...

And that's it folks.  While we're shooting for 9-0, remember that these picks are for entertainment purposes only.  That being said, I hope you're winning stacks and enjoying the holidays!!!

Happy Holidays

Since I'll be working several hours over the next few days until I post on Friday, I wanted to wish all of you a Merry Christmas and an Outstanding 2016!  If things go as planned, I'll be typing to you from my brand new tablet on Friday.  In the meantime, have a great week!

Football Friday (2015 - Week 16)

Good morning everyone.  The bad news is that I have a late post for you this week that is going to be abbreviated and done from my phone, but the good news is that I plan on doing next week's entry from a new tablet.  Joey, who went 3-0 last week, leads off for us today...

Joey's Parlay Card (Last Week 3-0/Overall 22-22-1)

New Mexico (+10) vs. Arizona
Jets (-3.5) @ Cowboys
Packers (-3) @ Raiders

As for Pete, he went 0-3 here last week, but won like $800.00 at the poker tables...

Pete's Parlay Card (Last Week 0-3/Overall 15-29-1)

Seahawks  (-14.5) vs. Browns
Steelers (-6) vs. Broncos
Lions/Saints  (Over 50.5)

For some reason, I hope that Pete's picks do really well this week...

Coach's Parlay Card (Last Week 2-1/Overall 19-26)

Seahawks (-14.5) vs. Browns
Patriots (-13.5) vs. Titans
Lions/Saints (Over 50.5)

I plan on editing these picks with the full text.  Regardless, I should have a new tablet next week, and these phone posts will come to an end.  Remember, these picks are for entertainment purposes only.  Have a great football weekend!

Football Friday (2015 - Week 15)

Good evening everyone.  My crack staff was kind enough to get their picks to me early this week since I have to work tomorrow.  The ironic thing is that we've only picked one Saturday game among the three of us...  :)  Joey also seems to be on a little vacation, and Pete was busy hurting the 1-2 NL poker table at Red Rock, so the early contributions are truly appreciated.  Without any further ado, here's Joey coming to you live from somewhere between San Diego and Las Vegas...

Joey's Parlay Card (Last Week 1-2/Overall 19-22-1)

Saints (+3.5) @ Buccaneers
Redskins (+3) @ Bears
Packers (-7) vs. Cowboys

No more college football til December 19th, so I guess I'll pick three NFL teams.

Saints (+3.5) - Saints are still a better team and this year they're playing better on the road.
Redskins (+3) - The NFC East teams cannot win two in a row, nor do they lose two in a row.
Packers (-7) - This falls into the same community as above, plus the Packers really need a win to stay in the NFC Central mix.

That's it for this week.  I have my numbers and I am ready to start the bowl season.  Good luck!

Like I said, Joey's on vacation, and there is actually a little NCAA action this weekend.  Before I pick on Joey too much though, we picked one bet the same.  However, Pete took a flyer on a college bet among his action.  Live from the Vegas Strip, here's Pete...

Pete's Parlay Card (Last Week 1-2/Overall 15-26-1)

Navy (-22.5) vs. Army
Lions (+3) @ Rams
49ers (+2) @ Browns

Last week I went 2-1, and I know exactly how - my pair of winners consisted of big favorites.  That being said, you have one guess where my money is going this weekend...

Seahawks (-10) @ Ravens - Hawks CRUSHED Vikings, Ravens are nevermore...
Broncos (-7) vs. Oakland - Suddenly hot Broncos at home in the cold, thin air...
Packers (-7) vs. Cowboys - Rodgers at home in the chilly Wisconsin air...

And that it folks.  Remember that these picks are for entertainment purposes only, and thanks for sending this blog over the 2,000 view mark!  Have a great football weekend!

Football Friday (2015 - Week 14)

Good evening everyone.  Once again I'm posting late (shocking).  It's really fortunate for me that I'm not betting serious amounts of money this season as I just can't seem to get on track.  Pete led us with 2 wins last weekend, Joey had 1, and I whiffed every bet.  Joey still leads us overall for the season, and he's leading off for us tonight...

Joey's Parlay Card (Last Week 1-2/Overall 18-20-1)

Temple (+6) @ Houston
Iowa (+3.5) vs. Michigan State
Vikings (+1.5) vs. Seahawks

How time flies.  The college season is literally over.  It's now the start of the championships and the bowl season, which I will once again bet every game and total :), but first this week.  I like more college than NFL.

Temple (+6) - Both teams have really good offenses.  I think that Temple has the better D.  I guess we shall see.
Iowa (+3.5) - It's a high profile game that I normally stay from.  Plus this is like a playoff game since the winner is in and the loser is out, so I'll take the dog.
Vikings (+1.5) - At home, Minnesota opened a 3-point favorite.  Vegas is seldom wrong, and the public seldom right.

I haven't picked my Alma Mater all year, so I'm giving a bonus pick.
NMSU (-2) @ UL Monroe - Both teams are bad, but NMSU has not had 4 wins since 2004 and might be a little more motivated to play.

That's it for this week.  Good luck and may all your tickets cash.

Wow, I'm kinda glad Pete doesn't have much to say, because Joey said a lot
...  :)  I'm posting from my phone this time, which is much harder...  Now it's Pete's turn to wow us...

Pete's Parlay Card (Last Week 2-1/Overall 14-24-1)

Western Kentucky (-7.5) vs. Southern Mississippi)
Alabama (-18) vs. Florida
Broncos/Chargers (Over 43.5)

And now let's see if I can win a bet this week...  :)

Coach's Parlay Card (Last Week 0-3/Overall 15-24)

Bengals (-9) @ Browns - Stripes face off against yet another new Browns QB...
Eagles/Patriots (Under 49) - Falling temperatures and Pats receivers...
Steelers (-7) vs. Colts - I remember last year's game...

And that's it my friends.  Remember, no guarantees here, so wager at your own risk.  Have a great football weekend!

Football Friday (2015 - Week 13)

Good morning everyone.  Maybe one of these days I'll actually do my 'Football Friday' post on a Friday.  We went 5-4 here last week, so it certainly wasn't our worst showing.  Heck, let's be honest, we're THRILLED TO DEATH that we had a winning record...  ;)  Joey went 2-1 last week, and he'll lead things off for us today.  Live from the Palace Station Sportsbook & Casino, here's Joey...

Joey's Parlay Card (Last Weekend 2-1/Overall 17-18-1)

Georgia (-4) vs. Georgia Tech
Oklahoma State (+7.5) vs. Oklahoma
Giants (-2.5) @ Redskins

I hope that everyone is stuffed full of turkey.  Now it's time for the dessert.  I loved Iowa since I think that they'll be in the playoff, but I had to pass since they played on Friday.  Here are my three next best bets...

Georgia (-4) - The Dawgs are bigger, faster, and stronger.  The only question is will their head coach be there after today's game...
Oklahoma State (+7.5) - Rivalries are my game.  In any rivalry game, I want the home dog...
Giants (-2.5) - G-Men have a chance to take a two-game lead in the NFC East.  They have not played the greatest all year, but this game provides a lot of motivation.

Happy Turkey Day Weekend and may all your tickets cash!

And while we're talking about Turkey Day, I hope that all of you had a Happy Thanksgiving.  Speaking of turkeys, my brother, who has yet to give any commentary with his bets, was quick to criticize the NCAA on Facebook earlier in the week after the most recent FBS rankings came out.  It is interesting that a one-loss Oklahoma team that got beat by Texas is ahead of a one-loss Notre Dame squad that pummeled the Longhorns.  Nice catch Pete.  Oh, and I hope that you had a great birthday Pete!  Now coming to you live from the Bally's, Paris, and Planet Hollywood sportsbooks, here's Pete...

Pete's Parlay Card (Last Weekend 1-2/Overall 12-23-1)

Indiana (-7) @ Purdue
North Carolina (-4) @ North Carolina State
Buccaneers (+3) @ Colts

If Pete doesn't start talking to y'all, I think that I just keep stealing quotes from his Facebook page...  ;)  Okay, I almost managed to go 3-0 last week, but then the Bengals and Cardinals decided to score a bunch of points and make Joey look good instead.  Coming to you live from the Littleton Public Library nestled up in the White Mountains of New Hampshire, here I am...

Coach's Parlay Card (Last Weekend 2-1/Overall 15-21)

Stanford (-3.5) vs. Notre Dame - Irish lose and their FBS controversy fades away...
Oklahoma/Oklahoma State (Under 68) - Freezing rain, 35 degrees, and windy in Stillwater...
Patriots (-3) @ Broncos - Doubtful that Denver's QB will match Brady...

And that's it for today.  As always, remember that our musings are not guarantees.  Again, sorry for the late picks, but we hope that you enjoy the rest of your Thanksgiving Weekend!

Football Friday (2015 - Week 12)

Good afternoon everyone.  Sorry for the late picks this weekend - I've had a lot on my plate... Live from the Palace Station Sportsbook in Las Vegas, here's Joey...

Joey's Parlay Card (Last Weekend 1-2/Overall 15-17-1)

Northwestern (+11) @ Wisconsin
Tulane (+3) @ SMU
Cardinals/Bengals (Over 48.5)

This is the time of the year when the playoff picture starts to come into focus.  Saturday was a big day for several teams to keep these playoff hopes alive.  I didn't bet those games, but they were fun to watch...

Northwestern (+11) - Northwestern is 8-0 when outrushing teams this year.  Wisconsin has had trouble stopping the run.  I think you see where this is going...

Tulane (+3) - SMU has been outscored 214-77 in the 4th quarter this year.

Cardinals/Bengals (Over 48.5) - I'm not much of a totals guy, but both of these teams were shut down last week, so I think Arizona & Cincy come out firing.

Good luck.  I know we need it, and may all your tickets cash!

And now coming to you live from the Bally's, Paris, and Planet Hollywood books, also in Las Vegas, here's Pete...

Pete's Parlay Card (Last Weekend 1-2/Overall 11-21-1)

North Carolina (-5) @ Virginia Tech
Rice (+3) @ UTSA
Cowboys (Pk) @ Dolphins

And now fresh off an 0-3 week, it's me...

Coach's Parlay Card (Last Weekend 0-3/Overall 13-20)

Texans (+4) vs. Jets - Division-leading Texans at home with points...
Cowboys (-3) @ Dolphins - Romo is back, and he has weapons...
Bengals/Cardinals (Under 48) - Just to bother Joey.  :)  Nah, maybe 45 total...

Pete gets the Cowboys as a "pick 'em" while I get them at (-3) because those were the lines at the time.  Same goes for the differing total on the Bengals/Cardinals game.  Remember that these picks are for entertainment purposes only and enjoy your football today.

Football Friday (2015 - Week 11)

Good evening everyone.  A day early this week, what do you know?  I actually have to work until 7:00  tomorrow night and I didn't want to post super late (especially considering how many college games Joey and Pete have weighed in on).  I ended up going 2-1 last week to lead the pack, and for that reason alone, I think that we'll keep the order just the same.  Joey is still our overall leader with me right on his heels, and Pete is closing ground as we attempt to get our overall mark to .500.  Now coming to you live from the Palace Station Sportsbook in Las Vegas, Nevada (and taking the points with the road dogs in college games on Saturday), here's Joey...

Joey's Parlay Card (Last Week 0-3/Overall 14-15-1)

Maryland (+15) @ Michigan State
Tulsa (+18) @ Cincinnati
Raiders (-3) vs. Vikings

College basketball starts this week, so it's more time taken to handicap games, but I still have three good ones:

Maryland (+15) - Since Maryland has fired their head coach, all the games have been close, plus Michigan State is not an offensive juggernaut.
Tulsa (+18) - Both these teams are about equal, so three scores is a gift.
Raiders (-3) - Even if Bridgewater plays, he will not be 100%.  Derek Carr is playing lights out and the Raiders look like a playoff contender.

That's it for this week's parlay card.  May all your tickets cash!

Some people like the double-digit college underdogs, and others like the double-digit college favorites.  Now appearing at the Bally's, Paris, and Planet Hollywood Sportsbooks in the desert, here's Pete...

Pete's Parlay Card (Last Week 1-2/Overall 10-19-1)

Oklahoma State (-14) @ Iowa State
Iowa (-11.5) vs. Minnesota
Dolphins/Eagles (Under 50)

Someday we'll get Pete to say something (maybe)...  :)  As has been my tendency recently, I'm going with three NFL bets.  Live from northern New Hampshire, here I am...

Coach's Parlay Card (Last Week 2-1/Overall 13-17)

Eagles (-6) vs. Dolphins - Eagles 'O' is staring to click, and the fish lost ugly to the Bills...
Patriots/Giants (Over 54.5) - The ball will primarily be in the air in this matchup...
Bengals (-10.5) vs. Texans - How do Texans keep it close in Cincinnati?...

And that's all folks.  As always, remember that these picks are for entertainment purposes only.  Have a great football weekend!

Football Friday (2015 - Week 10)

Hello again everyone.  My predictions were right last week, just not about the football games...  :) I stated that my brother Pete, despite a slow start, was capable of getting hot, and he went 3-0. Joey and I went 1-2 however, giving our group a collective record of 5-4 last week.  That was our second winning weekend in a row though, so we're getting better.  Now we'll see if we can build on that momentum.  Coming to you live from the Palace Station Sportsbook in Las Vegas, here's our overall leader Joey...

Joey's Parlay Card (Last Week 1-2/Overall 14-12-1)

Duke (+8.5) @ North Carolina
Houston (-8) vs. Cincinnati
Falcons (-7) @ 49ers

It's just starting to get cold in Vegas.  Hopefully my picks stay hot.

Duke (+8.5) - Duke is hot after losing a wild finish to Miami, and they are still my pick to win the ACC.
Houston (-8) - The Cougars have one of the hottest offenses in college football.  I think they are still underrated, but should win this weekend by 16 or more.
Falcons (-7) - Both teams have been cold lately, but with the benching of Kaepernick, I don't see San Fran heating up anytime soon.

That's it for this weekend's parlay card.  May all your tickets cash!

Not to give you a spoiler alert or anything, but after Atlanta screwed me again last week, I'm leaving the Falcons against the spread alone.  Good luck Joey...  :)  Now onto the quiet assassin who went undefeated last week.  Not only did Pete go 3-0, but he finished third in the Bally's employee poker tournament and he got a promotion at work.  Now coming to you live from Las Vegas in his brand new threads, here's Pete...

Pete's Parlay Card (Last Week 3-0/Overall 9-17-1)

LSU (+7) @ Alabama
UNLV (-9.5) vs. Hawaii
Saints (-8.5) vs. Titans

Now for the guy who followed up a 3-0 week with a 1-2 disaster...

Coach's Parlay Card (Last Week 1-2/Overall 11-16)

Jaguars/Jets (Under 42.5) - Scoring should be tough in this one...
Falcons/49ers (Under 44.5) - I don't trust either team as far as Gabbert can throw them...
Redskins/Patriots (Under 52.5) - I'm expecting a total in the 40's...

As always, remember that our picks are not guaranteed, and they are for entertainment purposes only.  That being said, good luck if you make any wagers, and have a great football weekend!

Football Friday (2015 - Week 9)

Good evening everyone.  Just as I did last week, I worked today (publishing day), so this is coming to most of you in the evening.  Our team collectively went 6-3 here last week, and I think that we'll keep picking up steam as the season progresses.  Our overall leader Joey went 2-1 last week, and today is his birthday, so we'll let him lead off.  Who am I kidding?  I went 3-0 last week, so we're going in the EXACT SAME ORDER as we did last week for that reason...  ;)  Coming live to you from the Palace Station Sportsbook & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, here's the birthday boy...

Joey's Parlay Card (Last Week 2-1/Overall 13-10-1)

Florida International (-2) @ Florida Atlantic
Chargers (+3.5) @ Ravens
Falcons (-7) vs. Buccaneers

I like lots of games this week, but I narrowed them down to three, so here goes...

Florida International (-2) - It's a big rivalry game and FIU has the rushing edge.  I'll take the small favorite.
Chargers (+3.5) - Baltimore just isn't good and all six games have been close.  I think this game will be also.
Falcons (-7) - The Bucs blow a big lead vs. Washington and the Falcons have something to prove after not playing well against Tennessee.

That's it for this week's parlay card.  May all your tickets cash!

Happy Birthday Joey!  I'm "stealing" something from the birthday boy here shortly (spoiler alert)... Now it's my brother's turn, and his picks are starting to turn the corner.  He's been very close on some of his losses, and I've been around long enough to know that he's very capable of getting hot. Pete's also coming to you live from Las Vegas, from the Bally's, Paris, and Planet Hollywood sportsbooks...

Pete's Parlay Card (Last Week 1-2/Overall 6-17-1)

Clemson (-10) @ North Carolina State
Houston (-11.5) vs. Vanderbilt
Rams (-8.5) vs. 49ers

If you're just tuning in, Pete is going to start talking to you soon...  ;)  Well, like I said, I went 3-0 last week, and I'm hoping to build on that.  Sadly for me, I worked a lot last weekend and didn't have the foresight to bet on my own picks...  :(  As I've said before, these picks are for entertainment purposes only, so don't go crazy wagering on them.  With that being said, let's see if I can pick three more winners this weekend...

Coach's Parlay Card (Last Week 3-0/Overall 10-14)

Falcons (-7) vs. Bucs - My very favorite bet of the weekend - blowout potential here...
Cardinals (-5.5) @ Browns - How do the Browns score in this game???
Packers (-2.5) @ Broncos - See below...

Now I"m going to go "Joey Style" (it is his birthday after all, right?) and say a little bit more about my picks.  The Falcons are at home and Tampa has Winston at quarterback.  I think that this bet has all kinds of potential at (-7), and I would be shocked if that number doesn't move by Sunday.  Sunday night it's Green Bay's turn, and when you look at it, the Packers are (2-.5).  We're talking about Aaron Rodgers vs. an again Peyton Manning.  I'm not crazy about the game being in Denver, but I think that the Packers have too much firepower.

Happy Halloween and have a great football weekend everyone!

Friday, October 23, 2015

Football Friday (2015 - Week 8)

Good evening everyone.  I worked today and my Vegas peeps are taking their sweet time getting their picks to me, so this is coming to you early evening on the east coast.  Joey climbed another game above .500 last week, so we'll let him lead off again this week (once I get his picks)...  ;) Coming live to you from the Palace Station Sportsbook & Casino, here's Joey...

Joey's Parlay Card (Last Week 2-1/Overall 11-9-1)

Duke (+3) @ Virginia Tech
Utah (+4) @ USC
Raiders/Chargers (Over 47)

The weeks seem to be flying by.  It's already Week 7 of the NFL season.  Wow.  I'm not a totals guy, but I'll use one this week...

Duke (+3) - The Blue Devils are my choice to win the ACC.  Their offense is not where it should be, but I think they will have enough to win this game.
Utah (+4) - The Utes are getting no respect.  They are in the Top 5 in all of the polls, yet they are getting points in this game, so I'll take the points and the money.
Raiders/Chargers (Over 47) - There is not much defense with these two teams and both offenses have looked good.  Philip Rivers threw for over 500 yards last week.

That's it for this week.  Good luck and may all your tickets cash!

And since my brother outperformed me last week, we'll let him bat second this week.  Coming to you live from the Paris, Bally's, and Planet Hollywood books in Vegas, here's Pete...

Pete's Parlay Card (Last Week 1-1-1/Overall 5-15-1)

Toledo (-14) @ Massachusetts
Western Michigan (-25) vs. Miami (Ohio)
Cowboys (+3.5) @ Giants

It's becoming obvious to me that once you get a job in a sportsbook, you start messing with the smaller schools more in your wagers...  Speaking of that, I am going to include my Alma Mater (Texas State) in my picks for this weekend, but only because I'm betting on the rain from the hurricane to keep the score lower...

Coach' Parlay Card (Last Week 1-2/Overall 7-14)

South Alabama/Texas State (Under 65.5) - Thinking the rain in San Marcos keeps this score down...
Iowa State/Baylor (Under 76) - Betting on the rain in Waco also...
Rams (-6.5) vs. Browns - The Rams at home will be tough to beat in this one...

And that's it for this week.  On Joey's Utah pick, when I glanced over the lines a while ago, I seriously thought that the Utes were favored by 4 - no respect indeed.  As always, remember that our picks are for entertainment purposes only.  Have a great football weekend and we'll see you next week!

Football Friday (2015 - Week 7)

Good evening everyone.  I'm sorry about the late post.  I got a new job this week, my birthday week at that, and I've been pretty busy.  You can read more about that here at my other blog.  Well, last weekend certainly wasn't the most stellar for me, as I went 0-for-the-weekend here with my football picks.  My brother Pete got on the board with another win, and Joey edged above the .500 mark with a 2-1 week.  Still our leader, we'll lead off with our guy from the Palace Sportsbook & Casino in Las Vegas.  Here's Joey...

Joey's Parlay Card (Last Week 2-1/Overall 9-8-1)

Michigan State (+7) @ Michigan
Air Force (-3) @ Colorado State
Browns (+4) vs. Broncos

Each week gets harder and harder, but I'm still a dog bettor, so that's where most of my plays this week will be.

Michigan State (+7) - Rivalry games are normally close.  No one thought Michigan would be good this fast, but a great coach with good players makes for a great team.  This game will come down to who has the ball last.
Air Force (-3) - Air Force knows how to jet themselves to victory by flying thru tight spaces.  This sounds like my girlfriend's typing, but seriously.  The Falcons running game is spectacular and CSU has trouble stopping the run.
Browns (+4) - Denver is 5-0, but it's been the defense carrying this team so far.  I think Denver wins, but only by a last-second field goal.

That's it for this week's parlay card.  May all your tickets win!

I was writhing in pain watching Utah not cover last Saturday, so in my effort to catch up with Joey, I'm going with three NFL bets this Sunday.  I know, none of my NFL bets won last weekend either - shut up...

Coach's Parlay Card (Last Week 0-3/Overall 6-12)

Dolphins/Titans (Under 43.5) - How would 44 points be scored in this game???
Cardinals/Steelers (Under 44.5) - Steelers can't pass, running takes time, and Cards play D...
Seahawks (-7) vs. Panthers - Desperate Hawks with crazy home field against young Panthers...

As we get to my brother's picks, for the umpteenth time, we have the POSSIBILITY of going 9-0 this week and we've picked 9 different bets.  Live from the Bally's, Paris, and Planet Hollywood books in the desert, here's Pete...

Pete's Parlay Card (Last Week 1-2/Overall 4-14)

Kansas State (+4) vs. Oklahoma
Notre Dame (-5) vs. USC
Bears (+3) @ Lions

We're gonna make Pete talk before the playoffs begin...  ;)  Just in case it isn't blatantly obvious by now, these picks are for entertainment purposes only, so wager (or don't wager) accordingly.  Have a great football weekend and we'll see you soon!

Football Friday (2015 - Week 6)

Good evening everyone.  The good news this week is that collectively, all of us have picked nine different favorite wagers, so there's a possibility that we could go 9-0 for the week.  The bad news is that we could combine to go 3-6 like we did last week....  Joey's overall mark has been knocked down to .500, but he's still our leader, so live from the Palace Station Sportsbook in Las Vegas, here's Joey...

Joey's Parlay Card (Last Week 1-2/Overall 7-7-1)

Navy (+15) @ Notre Dame
Browns (+7) @ Ravens
Bears (+10) @ Chiefs

Timing is everything.  Last week when I sent my picks to Coach, Ohio was (-3), but when I purchased my ticket at the casino that afternoon, they were (-2).  The final score was 14-12 and a push.  It just shows that shopping for the best number pays off.  This week...

Navy (+15) - Navy runs the triple-option.  It's the only time that Notre Dame gets to see this offense, so getting two touchdowns makes Navy a five-star iron horse pick that your children's children's children will want to bet.
Browns (+7) - The Browns are improving, not enough to win, but they can keep the game close.
Bears (+10) - Jay Cutler got the Bears a win last week.  Two weeks in a row is too much to ask of this team, and the Chiefs like to run the clock.  KC wins, but the game stays close.

Good luck this week and may all your tickets cash!

Somebody likes their road dogs this weekend...  :)  As for me, I've now dropped three games below the .500 mark, and I desperately want to turn that around...

Coach's Parlay Card (Last Week 1-2/Overall 6-9)

Utah (-7.5) vs. California - Utah destroyed Oregon and Cal almost lost to Texas - enough said...
Falcons (-7) vs. Redskins - I have to go with the hot team playing at home here...
Steelers/Chargers (Over 45.5) - Even without Ben, still lots of offense to go around in this one...

Pete got back on the board with a win last week, and I think he's ready to right the ship.  Live from the Bally's, Paris, or Planet Hollywood Sportsbook in Las Vegas, here's Pete...

Pete's Parlay Card (Last Week 1-2/Overall 3-12)

Louisiana Tech (-11) @ UTSA
Arizona State (-15) vs. Colorado
Giants (-7) vs. 49ers

And that's it for this weekend my friends.  Remember that our picks are for entertainment purposes only and have a great football weekend!

Football Friday (2015 - Week 5)

Good evening everyone.  Sorry about the later post tonight.  I had errands to do today, but now I've got the Memphis/South Florida game on ESPN 2 and I'm ready to type.  Joey continued his winning ways last week by going 2-1, and since he's still our overall leader for the season, we'll lead off with him again.  Coming to you live from the Palace Station Sportsbook & Casino in Las Vegas, here's Joey...

Joey's Parlay Card (Last Week 2-1/Overall 6-5-1)

Ohio (-3) @ Akron
Minnesota (+5) @ Northwestern
Giants (+6) @ Bills

2-1 last week - not bad, but we will still strive for perfection this week.

Ohio (-3) - Even on the road, Ohio is the better team.
Minnesota (+5) - Sometimes records are misleading.  The Gophers are 3-1, but ran out of gas against TCU and lost by 6.  Northwestern is 4-0, but has only scored 3 offensive touchdowns.  I'm going with the road dog.
Giants (+6) - Giants woke up last week.  Let's see if they can keep the mojo going.

That's it for this week's parlay card.  May all your tickets cash!

And now it's my turn.  I went 1-2 last week, and I feel lucky to have done that.  My losses weren't even close last week, and that's unusual for me.  I picked the over in the Steelers/Rams game, and they combined for 12 points.  I took the under in the Falcons/Cowboys contest, and they put up 67.  OUCH...  Well, there's always next week, and next week is here...

Coach's Parlay Card (Last Week 1-2/Overall 5-7)

Texas/TCU (Under 73.5) - The Horns aren't involved in many 73+ point games...
Raiders (-3) @ Bears - The Bears have to overcome a lot against upstart Raiders...
Rams/Cardinals (Under 43) - Both squads can play a little defense...

And now my brother is up to bat.  Pete managed to go 0-3 last week, but he missed one total by just 2 1/2 points, and he also had the Cowboys plus 1 1/2 points hosting Atlanta.  Dallas unfathomably only ran the ball for 5 times in the second half after hurting the Falcons with Randle in the first half last Sunday.  He's stepping back up to the plate now, so picking live from the Bally's, Paris, or Planet Hollywood Sportsbook in Las Vegas, here's Pete...

Pete's Parlay Card (Last Week 0-3/Overall 2-10)

West Virginia/Oklahoma (Over 59)
Nevada (-6.5) vs. UNLV
Chargers (-7.5) vs. Cleveland

And those are our best bets for this weekend.  We give you 9 completely different picks, so hopefully we'll collectively finish 9-0 for the weekend.  Again, these picks are for entertainment purposes only, as always.  Have a great football weekend and we'll see you next week!

Football Thursday (2015 - Week 4)

Good afternoon everyone.  It was a rough football weekend for those of us here at the Parlay Card a week ago.  Joey, Pete, and myself went a collective 2-7 on our football bets here last week.  I would venture to wager that you won't see a worse combined record from us for the rest of the season.  Due to personal obligations that I have tomorrow and Saturday, I wanted to get our bets for this weekend published today, and Joey and Pete were kind enough to expedite their selections for me.  Since Joey is still our overall leader, he will again lead things off for us.  Live from the Palace Station Sportsbook & Casino iu Las Vegas, here's Joey...

Joey's Parlay Card (Last Week 1-2/Season 4-4-1)

Navy (-7) @ Connecticut
Raiders (+3.5) @ Browns
Bears (+15) @ Seahawks

Discipline is the key to winning at sports betting.  This week there are lots of games to choose from, so let's see if we can narrow it down to three.

Navy (-7) - The Midshipmen run the ball better than anyone else as QB Keenan Reynolds owns the NCAA record of 70 TD's.
Raiders (+3.5) - QB Derek Carr woke the offense up last week.  The defense is still suspect, but Cleveland has neither.  Johnny Fooseball is back on the bench.
Bears (+15) - The Bears are banged up on offense and defense right now.  Seattle is 0-2 and hungry for a win.  It's those factors that the general public thinks will make this game a blowout, but remember, this is the NFL!!!

Good luck and may all your tickets cash!

And now I'm up.  I felt strongly about LSU (-6.5) vs. Auburn after seeing Jacksonville State go toe-to-toe with Auburn the week before, but that was the game that I omitted from my three best bets. Unfortunately for me, Missouri didn't come close to covering (-21) vs. U. Conn, and the Rams were a no-show at Washington.  SO..., in spite of my Steelers pick coming through here and propelling me to first in Lucki Duck's contest, I went 1-2 for the second straight week.  Let's see if we can turn that around...

Coach's Parlay Card (Last Week 1-2/Season 4-5)

Texas State/Houston (Over 71.5) - Bobcat games have had video game scores this season...
Steelers/Rams (Over 47.5) - Pittsburgh offense and lack of defense means another track meet...
Falcons/Cowboys (Under 45) - Romo is out and Dallas has solid D - where do points come from?

Now it's my brother's turn, and he's still itching for his first winning week of the season.  As he was the first person to submit his selections today, even before I had a chance to tell him that I wanted his bets a day early, I suspect that he's ready for the weekend to kick off.  Live from the Bally's, Paris, and/or Planet Hollywood Sportbooks in Las Vegas, here's Pete...

Pete's Parlay Card (Last Week 0-3/Season 2-7)

Illinois (-6) vs. Middle Tennessee State University
Oklahoma State/Texas (Over 59.5)
Cowboys (+1.5) vs. Falcons

As always, these picks of ours are for entertainment purposes only (a fact that should be clearly evident after last week)...  No guarantees here, but we hope that you have a great football weekend and we'll see you again next Friday!

Football Friday (2015 - Week 3)

Good afternoon everyone.  I hope that you're enjoying the start of this season as much as I am.  I went to sleep early on the Giants/Cowboys game earlier in the week, but I witnessed the ending of the Broncos/Chiefs matchup last night - WOW...  Let me again remind you as I type up these picks that they're for entertainment purposes only - there are no guarantees here.  If you did bet with anyone's selections last week, I hope that you went with Joey, as he was 2-0-1 for the week, and is now our overall leader.  Without any further ado, live from the Palace Station Sportsbook & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, here's Joey...

Joey's Parlay Card (Last Week 2-0-1/Season 3-2-1)

Duke (-3) vs. Northwestern
Cardinals (-2) @ Bears
Giants (-2.5) vs. Falcons

Picking teams became a little bit harder for the NFL's Week 2.  Teams that were supposed to win in Week 1 did not while others looked spectacular.  Normally I like to bet against the teams that won in Week 1 and with the teams that lost.  The teams that lost seem to play harder and no team want to be 0-2.

Duke (-3) - The Blue Devil program is looking good and Duke is my team to win the ACC.
Cardinals (-2) - Change of coaches has not helped Jay Cutler or the bad Bears defense.
Giants (-2.5) - The G-Men gave away last week's game and Atlanta comes off a Monday night win (it fits perfect into a Week 2 play).

That's all for this week's picks.  May all your tickets cash!

And now it's my turn.  I could spend a while telling you how I was about to win my Alabama pick last week when they threw an interception deep in Middle Tennessee State territory (because EVERYONE LOVES hearing bad beat stories, right?), OR I could just tell you that I went 1-2 and give you my picks for this weekend...

Coach's Parlay Card (Last Week 1-2/Season 3-3)

Missouri (-21) vs. Connecticut - The Huskies have edged two unranked teams not from the SEC...
Steelers (-6) vs. 49ers - Well-rested Steelers host weary and jet-lagged Niners...
Rams (-3) @ Redskins - After beating the Seahawks, Rams only lay 3 to this team?  Thanks...

A season record of 6-3 is written all over those picks, huh?  ;)  And now it's my brother's turn, as he tries to put together his first winning week of the season.  Live from the Paris, Bally's, and/or Planet Hollywood sportsbooks in Las Vegas, here's Pete...

Pete's Parlay Card (Last Week 1/2/Season 2-4)

Oklahoma (-30) vs. Tulsa
Kansas State (-9.5) vs. Louisiana Tech
Titans (+2.5) @ Browns

On Pete's Titans pick, I'm assuming that he made his bet when Tennessee opened as the underdog, so you probably won't find that line today.  For the first time this season, our experts here picked nine different bets, so hopefully we'll post a mark of 9-0 this weekend...  Have a great football weekend and we'll see you next Friday!

Pregame

Good morning everyone.  A much different day for me today compared to last year at this time.  A year ago on the opening Sunday of the NFL season, I was in Las Vegas preparing for Grrouchie to pick me up and drive us to the theater at the Westgate Casino so that we could watch the buffet of NFL action.  As I linked to Grrouchie's blog right there, I noticed that he hasn't published a blog entry in five months, so it's not just my life that's different now...  :)  I'm sitting at my computer closely monitoring our weekend bets for this blog.  Currently this week, my brother and I are both sitting at 1-1, while Joey is 0-0-1, earning our first tie of the season with his pick of Michigan State (-3) over Oregon.

Alright, that's all that I've got for you on this lovely Sunday.  Have a great day enjoying all of the games and I'll see you soon!

Football Friday (2015 - Week 2)

Good afternoon everyone.  Well, one week is already in the books - the football season is officially underway.  None of our experts went undefeated last week, but no one lost all three games either.  We're back again today to take a crack at this weekend's games.  As always, these picks are for entertainment purposes only and are by no means guarantees.  Since I'm the overall leader at this point (and it may be the only time this season), I'll lead off this week...  :D

Coach's Parlay Card (Last Week 2-1/Season 2-1)

BYU (+2.5) vs. Boise State - Surprised that the Cougars are getting points at home...
Alabama (-35) vs. Middle Tennessee State - I just need Bama to keep their foot on the gas pedal...
Cowboys (-6) vs. Giants - Lots of talent in Big D for this primetime opener...

Since Pete and Joey both had the same record last week and we led off with Joey, we'll put Pete in the second slot this week.  Coming to you live from the Paris, Bally's, and Planet Hollywood sportsbooks in Las Vegas, here's Pete...

Pete's Parlay Card (Last Week 1-2/Season 1-2)

Western Michigan (-4) @ Georgia Southern
Air Force (-6) vs. San Jose State
Eagles (-3) @ Falcons

Pete seems to have opinions on all sorts of Falcons this weekend...  :)  And now running the anchor leg this week, coming live to you from the Palace Station sportsbook in Las Vegas, here's Joey...

Joey's Parlay Card (Last Week 1-2/Season 1-2)

Michigan State (-3) vs. Oregon
Titans (+3) @ Buccaneers
Giants (+6) @ Cowboys

Michigan State (-3) - Best team in the Big Ten.  They will win the whole thing if they stay on track.  Spartans win 35-10.
Titans (+3) - It's the battle of Heisman candidates.  One guy has looked good, the other has been a deer in headlights.  Tennessee wins outright 27-17.
Giants (+6) - This is a two-fold play.  First, it's a play against the general public.  Second, it's the late game just in case I need to lay off to make money no matter what happens.

Good luck and may all your tickets cash!

And those are our bets for this weekend.  Joey went up against my brother in one bet last week, and he opposes me on another this week.  Well, I hope that our group goes 8-1 for the weekend...  :)  Have a great football weekend and we'll see you next week!
